# SAN miners

> Contribute browser capacity to SAN's live search network.

SAN miners contribute browser capacity to the live search network. The desktop app uses your computer and internet connection to fetch public information requested by agents.

1. SAN assigns a job to an available miner.
2. The miner retrieves the information with its browser.
3. SAN returns the result and records the miner's contribution.

Successful jobs earn USDC credits. Online time and successful jobs earn points. Job availability depends on demand and eligibility; being online does not guarantee continuous work or fixed earnings.

## Get started

Follow the [miner quickstart](https://docs.sanfoundation.com/miners/quickstart.md) to connect your computer. Keep **Miner on** enabled to receive jobs, or turn it off to pause participation.

You can run miners on the Free plan. Mining rewards are separate from your API subscription. Review them in the platform's **Earnings** and **Points** pages; see [earnings and points](https://docs.sanfoundation.com/miners/earnings.md).
